When you called me the other evening, I was both, happy and surprised. And after we hung up, I was just happy, happy to know that you are getting married today. CONGRATULATIONS!!! And you know that these wishes come from the bottom of my heart with all the good vibes I’m able to send to you at the distance!!!

My sweet one, don’t forget the promises you made the first time you noticed you were in love and be brave enough to keep them for good. Even though, you made your life your own way, disregarding the advices of an old wise man like the one we knew, you made it well. It took a longer path, only.

Always remember that there is a superior law, the one that rules the hearts of human beings, which says that Love is all mighty, powerful and invincible. There is no power stronger than love. It climbs the highest mountains, dives the deepest seas, and walks the farthest distances just to fulfil the higher hope of eternal devotion and care for our significant other.

I really hope that this (not-easy-) decision will crown a good life lived together with your husband-to-be… well, he already is, by all means! He must be a kind and brave man (any man who dears to marry a woman like us must be brave!!! It’s a joke, of course. Hey man! don’t be scared!!! hahaha)… tell him that I send him my truest wishes of happiness as well (In fact, that’s why I’m writing part of this message in English, you know).

As you can see, love and couples is being an issue in my blog these days. That’s why I also decided to publish this small message to you. To show that there’s still people who believe in eternal love, in making life easier and sweeter, living it like a two-sided project and who are not afraid to take the vows.

My darling, I really, really hope that Our Heavenly Father bless your marriage with joy, peace and good love, like in the old times, when we dreamt about a Prince who would come and take us to a beautiful castle in the top of the hill to live happily thereafter!!!

Y ahora, un poco en español para ti…

Me alegró mucho que me hicieras saber que – finalmente – te casabas. Alguien por allá arriba debe estar muy contento, y aunque no pueda llevarte del brazo a la iglesia, sin duda estará contigo y con la persona que lo haga en ese momento.

Me alegró saber que aún tienes fe en el matrimonio, en asumir compromisos públicamente, y lo mejor de todo, en mantenerlos. Creer que las personas seguirán unidas para toda la vida y que nada podrá separarlas es algo significativo y hermoso especialmente en la sociedad en la que vives (en eso discrepo un poco del rito católico, yo creo que las personas que se aman de verdad no las separa ni la muerte). Es lindo que creas en la importancia de los ritos, esos que ya están siendo olvidados en esta sociedad tan materialista y hedonista… Piensa en eso, querida mía, cuando el sacerdote esté bendiciendo tu unión. Piensa que “El amor es más fuerte” (qué frase más sabia de Juan Pablo II!!!). Más fuerte incluso que nuestro carácter, que nuestras diferencias culturales y/o de credo, y que todos los obstáculos que empecinadamente la vida nos pone en el camino.

Hoy y mañana estaré contigo a la distancia participando de tu felicidad… porque tal como me lo dijiste tan sencillamente: Ya era tiempo de hacerlo. Como una consecuencia natural del cariño. Ya era tiempo.

Espero que no te olvides que cada día es un nuevo día para amar y que cada uno trae su propio afán. La eternidad se construye pensando así, en el día a día. Sólo así lograrás mantener vivo el amor hasta el final, cuando siendo viejitos, viejitos, se puedan tomar de la mano con la misma ternura del primer día y avanzar confiados y sin temor hasta los estadios siguientes que se encuentran más allá del mar de la eternidad, después del valle de la muerte.

Les deseo lo mejor a los dos, una buena y larga vida, para que puedan pasear por los parques y sentir la misma emoción del primer beso, aún después de muchos años. Para que cuando la gente los vea pasar, enmudezcan de la emoción al ver tanto amor entre dos personas.

Larga vida al amor, larga vida a ustedes dos en armonía y juntos para siempre.
